Johanna was raised in a blended family with four sisters. Her parents raised the girls to be ambitious, independent, freethinking women. Because of this, Johanna commits time to guiding women to being their best self. While living in Austin, she mentored at The Ann Richard’s School for Young Women Leaders, where she strived to inspire young women to pave their own way and make a difference in their community.
Johanna supports The Children’s Shelter of The Greater San Marcos Youth Council, Inc. The Children’s Shelter is a 16-bed temporary home to approximately 150 children each year. Johanna donates clothes, bedding, toiletries, books, and games to these children who are taken from their abusive homes — sometimes in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on their back. Johanna also volunteers at events with The Gap Foundation: Community In Action Program, the Austin Parks Foundation and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
